Often times called “The Edge of America” by its residents, Folly Beach is a picturesque barrier island stretching six miles along the South Carolina Coast. Here, warm ocean breezes along sandy beaches lure those looking for Folly Beach real estate.
Walk along the 1,045-foot Edwin S. Taylor Fishing Pier, where bird-watching and fishing – as well as breathtaking views – are available. The pier is the second-longest pier on the East Coast.
Folly Beach is also home to the Morris Island Lighthouse, first built in 1767 before being destroyed during The Civil War. There is a grassroots effort to restore the lighthouse by stabilizing it and controlling the erosion.
